On Friday September 20th several of York University's Children's Studies Students were invited to attend Free the Children's We Day celebration. They got to hear from various speakers and learn about all of the ways children in our community and across the world are getting involved in projects of service and learning how to ethically support those who are less fortunate. Following the planned activities York's students were able to meet Marc Kielburger one of the co-founders of Free the Children and speak about the work currently being done in the program. Some students from the Children's Studies Faculty even presented Marc Kielburger with a Free the Children themed board game that was created during one of Professor Steve Gennaro's classes. Thank you We Day for giving us such an amazing and inspirational experience!
